Welcome to Local Bee! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Local Bee platform, including any associated services provided by Local Bee. By using our platform, you agree to these Terms, so please read them carefully. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the platform.
1. Introduction
Local Bee (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides an online platform that connects mentors and mentees. Our platform allows mentees to access expert guidance across various fields and enables mentors to share their expertise. These Terms govern your use of our platform, services, and any associated content.
2. Definitions
• Platform: Refers to the Local Bee website, mobile application, and any related tools or services provided by Local Bee.
• User: Refers to anyone who accesses or uses the platform, including both mentors and mentees.
• Mentor: An individual offering mentorship services via the Local Bee platform.
• Mentee: An individual seeking mentorship services through the platform.
• Content: Refers to any information, text, graphics, photos, audio, video, and other materials provided or available through the platform.
3. Account Registration and Security
To use certain features of the platform, you must register for an account. By registering, you agree to:
• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Keep your account login details confidential.
• Immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Local Bee is not liable for any losses or damages arising from your failure to safeguard your account.
4. Eligibility
By using the platform, you confirm that you are:
• At least 18 years old.
• Able to form legally binding contracts.
• Complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your use of the platform.
If you are under 18 or not legally permitted to use the platform, you may not access our services.
5. User Conduct
When using the platform, you agree to:
• Use the platform only for lawful purposes.
• Avoid posting, sharing, or distributing any content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others.
• Refrain from disrupting or interfering with the platform, its servers, or any associated networks.
• Not impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
Failure to adhere to these rules may result in the suspension or termination of your account.
6. Mentorship Services
Mentors on the platform are independent contractors and are not employees or agents of Local Bee. Local Bee provides the platform for mentors and mentees to connect but does not control or supervise the services offered by mentors. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the qualifications or abilities of any mentor.
Mentors’ Responsibilities:
• Provide accurate and detailed information about their services.
• Ensure that mentorship sessions are conducted in a professional and respectful manner.
• Abide by the agreed-upon terms with mentees regarding session duration, content, and pricing.
Mentees’ Responsibilities:
• Respect the time and expertise of mentors by adhering to scheduled sessions.
• Be clear and honest about your goals and expectations from the mentorship.
• Follow the mentor’s advice and instructions as it relates to your growth and development.
7. Payment Terms
Local Bee does not charge subscription fees for the use of the platform. Mentees pay only for the services they choose to receive from mentors. Payment is processed through a third-party payment processor, and you agree to comply with the terms and conditions of that processor.
For Mentees:
• Payments are required upon booking a mentorship session, and fees will be displayed at the time of purchase.
• Local Bee is not responsible for any payment disputes between mentors and mentees. However, we will assist in resolving issues if needed.
For Mentors:
• You will receive payment for services rendered through the platform, less any applicable processing fees charged by third-party payment processors.
• Local Bee does not take any additional percentage of your earnings beyond necessary payment processing fees.
8. Cancellations and Refunds
• Mentees: You may cancel a mentorship session up to 12 hours before the scheduled session to receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 12 hours of the session may not be eligible for a refund, at the mentor’s discretion.
• Mentors: If you need to cancel a session, you must notify the mentee as soon as possible. In the event of a mentor-initiated cancellation, the mentee will receive a full refund.
9. Intellectual Property
All content provided on the platform, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Local Bee or its licensors. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or otherwise use any content from the platform without prior written permission from Local Bee.
As a mentor or mentee, you retain ownership of any intellectual property you create and share on the platform. By uploading or sharing content, you grant Local Bee a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within the platform for the purposes of promoting and operating the service.
10. Privacy Policy
Your use of the platform is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the platform, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Local Bee, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or any interaction between mentors and mentees.
You acknowledge that your use of the platform is at your sole risk, and Local Bee provides the platform “as is” without any warranties of any kind, express or implied.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Local Bee, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
• Your violation of these Terms.
• Your use of the platform.
• Any disputes or issues that arise between mentors and mentees.
13. Termination
Local Bee reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account or access to the platform at any time, with or without cause or notice, for violations of these Terms or other reasons.
You may also terminate your account at any time by contacting our support team. Upon termination, your account will be deactivated, but certain content may remain accessible by others on the platform.
14. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the platform, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting Local Bee. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be subject to binding arbitration under the laws of [Insert Country or State].
15. Changes to Terms
Local Bee reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any significant changes by posting the updated Terms on the platform or through email. Your continued use of the platform after such modifications signifies your acceptance of the revised Terms.
